Drivers:
No bus goes very far without a driver and ours relies upon volunteers--not the least because this is a condition of our funding and licence. We have made the bus as easy to drive  as possible with power steering, an automatic/manual gearbox , ABS

braking, power doors, parking guide bleepers and a turbo diesel engine that sounds and goes more like a petrol engine. In fact if you can drive a medium size car you will quickly be at home in our bus but just a little higher up and with a better view.

All our drivers are MIDAS certificated free of charge and aged 21-74.  This reduces our insurance and gives our passengers confidence. We have our own friendly registered assessor takes you for an informal trial in the bus and when you are ready starts to review your driving for passenger safety and comfort. He is not there to catch you out and it is not at all like the driving test or IAM exam; just a friendly and leisurely couple of hours on an informal basis.

Get involved as a Friend of the bus. It is not a matter of asking people for money but sharing out the diverse workload that goes to running a successful bus.

You can be a real help and enjoy it without taking on a larger responsibility than you choose
